TIME/TEMPERATURE INDICATOR FOR CORRECT PRESERVATION OF BLOOD UNITS

These indicators are colour changing (vs. black) in the active central part, where the special resin that polymerises, is applied and therefore changes colour depending on the exposure to temperature. An indicator is attached to the blood units at validation. Thereafter the bag is immediately placed in the blood bank refrigerator (+4°C). In this conditions, if the bag is not being moved, the indicator on day 42 (due date of the bag) will show a complete change in colour vs. black indicating the non conformity of the product. 

Thanks to its accumulated memory, it allows accurate quality control on manipulation, stock and preservation of the bag to which it is attached.
